เครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ดแบบไร้สาย Zebra DS4678 รองรับการอ่าน บาร์โค้ดได้ทั้งแบบ 1D,2D,OCR สามารถเชื่อมต่อได้ ทั้งแบบ ใช้ฐาน  การต่อหัวอ่านกับ Smart Phone หรือการเก็บข้อมูลไว้ที่ตัวหัวอ่านเมื่อเจอฐาน จะทำการโหลดเข้า COM โดยตัว หัวอ่าน Zebra DS4678  สามารถ ห่างจากฐานได้ไกลถึง 100 เมตร (Class 1) , 10 เมตร (Class 2) ในพื้นที่โล่ง โดยตัว Battery  ของเครื่องรุ่นนี้เมื่อชาร์จเต็ม สามารถใช้ได้นานถึง 50,000 ครั้ง นอกจากนี้ ตัวฐานของเครื่องรุ่นนี้สามารถใช้ร่วมกับ DS8178 ได้

สำหรับซีรีย์นนี้ทาง Zebra ได้ทำเครื่อง มาให้เหมาะกับการใช้งาน ในพื้นที่หน้างานที่แตกต่างกันดังนี้  Zebra DS4678 SR , Zebra DS4678 HD , Zebra DS4678 HL ซึ่งในแต่ละรุ่นจะแตกต่างกันที่ ระยะการอ่าน บาร์โค้ด และ การอ่านขนาดของบาร์โค้ด

ตัวเครื่อง Zebra DS4678 SR , Zebra DS4678 HD , Zebra DS4678 HL  สามารถอ่านบาร์โค้ดได้ทั้ง แบบ 1D , 2D , OCR  และการอ่านบาร์โต้ด แบบ Multi-Code Data Formatting (MDF) ซึ่งเป็นการอ่านฉลากบาร์โค้ดแบบครั้งเดี่ยวหลายบาร์โต้ต และแสดงผล อีกหนึ่งคุณสมบัติ ของตัวเครื่องรุ่นนี้ คือเมื่อหัวอ่านและฐาน อยู่ในที่อับสัญญาณ จะมี สัญญาณ แจ้งเตือน เหมาะสำหรับการใช้งาน ทั้งร้านค้าปลีก ร้านค้าส่ง โกดัง  ร้านค้า โรงพยาบาล ฯลฯ
